Lucien E. Stewart
From WesternStarWiki
Although he appears as Senior Warden on the original charter issued by the Grand Lodge of Missouri, little is known of Lucien Stewart. A Google search states that a Lucien Stewart was a "sergeant-major among the Second Mounted Missouri Volunteers for service in the Mexican War." [1]
Another result talks of a Captain Lucien Stewart operating out of Fort Union in New Mexico. [2]
Between the Missouri link above and the story of Saschel Woods's travels in New Mexico, one could easily hypothesize these Lucien Stewarts are one and the same.
New Mexico's Lucien Stewart was a native of Vermont and came to New Mexico around 1842. He died in the late 1890s. [3]
