Joseph Isaacs

Born in Manchester England, Isaacs migrated to America at the age 12, residing in Louisville, Kentucky. He came overland in 1849. Made a Mason at Western Star Lodge No. 2 on December 31, 1853. Died at the age of 50 in his home in Shasta on October 8, 1873. Partner with Hullub in the Hullub & Isaacs store. Married Celinda Downer in 1854.[1]

As of April 24, 1852, was secretary of the Shasta Hook and Ladder Co. (per Shasta Courier of that date)
