John B. McColl

Established, owned, and operated McColl's Confectionary and McColl's Dairy Products in Redding. Elected to the California Senate in 1933; took in John Fitzpatrick as partner the same year. Instrumental in building Shasta Dam which was for a time unofficially called McColl Dam for him. Died in an automobile accident in 1938.
